Youth Welfare Planning

The Social Code VIII stipulates in which areas the municipality must provide youth welfare services.

In detail, these are mainly offers in the following fields:

• Family and parenting advice
• Counselling for children and young people
• Educational aids
• Family education
• Child and youth work
• Youth social work including school social work and youth vocational assistance
• Youth Association Work

Some of the described offers are implemented directly by employees of the Youth Welfare Office, the far greater part of the support and assistance measures is offered in cooperation with the Youth Welfare Office by independent youth welfare agencies.

Within the framework of youth welfare planning, needs with regard to the above-mentioned fields of action are reviewed and on this basis future goals and projects in the field of child and youth welfare are developed.
The cooperation between youth welfare planning, independent youth welfare agencies and the youth welfare committee plays a central role here. In addition to the preparation of a municipal child and youth development plan, the establishment and continuation of a reporting system on educational assistance is a central task of youth welfare planning.
