The successful attendance of the Technical School of Nutrition and Home Economics takes at least two years full-time (in part-time form, the duration is extended accordingly). The technical college is divided into the following disciplines (in brackets your later job title):

Housekeeping (Master of Municipal Housekeeping/Master of Municipal Housekeeping)
Housekeeping, focus on housekeeping manager (state-certified housekeeping manager)

In this field of study, you will acquire the right to enter a university of applied sciences degree in Rhineland-Palatinate at the same time as you graduate.

The aim is to impart qualified professional competencies through learning modules that are oriented towards operational tasks, processes and organizational structures.

Admission requirements for the Fachschule Hauswirtschaft, focus on housekeeping operations manager are

1. a qualified lower secondary qualification or a qualification recognised as equivalent, and

2. the completion of vocational training of at least two years, relevant vocational training regulated by federal or state law, as well as the completion of the vocational school, provided that the obligation to attend vocational school existed during the vocational training, and a subsequent relevant professional activity of at least one year.

Admission requirements for training as a master of home economics:

You should have completed vocational training as a housekeeper or a related profession (e.g. cook). To do this, you should be able to prove a two-year professional activity in this area. If the professional activity cannot be proven, it must be completed during the school training in addition. Vocational training and professional activity are relevant if they correspond to the respective discipline. The independent management of a multi-person household with up to two years can be credited to the professional activity.
