Apply for reimbursement of costs for educational leave
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIf you as an employer grant your employees time off for training purposes, you can have the costs reimbursed.
- Your employee has registered for further training at a recognized training event and has applied to you in writing for training leave in good time.
- You submit the application for reimbursement on time.
- You will then receive a preliminary decision.
- After your employee has taken part in the training event, you submit the confirmation of participation you have received, including the application for payment, to the responsible office.
- You will then receive a final decision on the reimbursement of costs from the responsible office.
As an employer, please contact the responsible Rhineland-Palatinate State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Care to apply for reimbursement of costs.
- the employment or training relationship has existed for at least six months
- there are no urgent operational reasons to the contrary.
- it is a recognized vocational or socio-political training event in accordance with the Rhineland-Palatinate Education and Training Leave Act.
As an employer, you must generally submit the application for reimbursement to the responsible office at least four weeks before the start of the relevant event.
The necessary application forms can be found on the website of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Care.
There is no entitlement to time off if you as an employer do not normally employ more than five people on a permanent basis.
In this case, however, training leave should be granted, taking into account operational or official interests.
As an employer with fewer than 50 employees, you can apply for a lump-sum reimbursement of the salary to be continued during training leave.
The legal entitlement to training leave for your employee amounts to ten working days within two consecutive calendar years for a 5-day working week. If the working week is regularly longer or shorter, the entitlement changes accordingly.
Trainees are entitled to five days of training leave per training year to take part in socio-political training events.
