Upgrading bonus I Rhineland-Palatinate to be paid out for passing a vocational training examination

You can apply for Aufstiegsbonus I in writing or digitally at the IHK, HWK or LWK responsible for your region. If you would like to apply for the benefit in writing, please contact the chamber responsible for you, which will send you the application documents.

Please contact your local Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Chamber of Crafts or Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture.

• Qualification from a German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Chamber of Crafts or Chamber of Agriculture
• Further training qualification at level 6 or 7 of the German Qualifications Framework (e.g. master craftsman, business economist, business administrator)
• Employed in Rhineland-Palatinate and subject to social security contributions or registered with main residence at the time the examination result is determined
• Has not already applied for a comparable benefit in another federal state

• Proof of main residence
• Employer's certificate
• Information sheet on de minimis aid

There are no costs.

The application period is 6 months from the date on which the examination result is determined.

Processing usually takes 4 to 8 weeks.

Legal action is excluded as this is a voluntary benefit provided by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. For information on how to appeal, please refer to the decision of the responsible chamber.

The Upgrading Bonus I is currently in the process of being digitized and should also be available for digital application in the course of 2025.
