Place of residence - registration of the sole or main residence

Please contact the registration office of the municipality or city.

The responsibility lies with the registration authority of the municipality or city.

In the case of persons under the age of 16, care must be taken to ensure that they are registered by the person whose home they are moving into.

Please bring with you:

• Confirmation of the landlord
• For German citizens: Identity card or passport,
• For foreign citizens: Passport or identity document
• For minors: Identity document and birth certificate

There are no fees.

You must register with the registration office within two weeks of moving in.
