If you are in need of assistance at the beginning of your stay in Germany, you are entitled to receive social benefits in accordance with the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act. You can apply for these asylum seeker benefits at the local benefits authority (social welfare office).
To apply for social benefits in accordance with the Social Security Code II or XII, please contact the Jobcenter of the Federal Employment Agency.
