Foreigner hunting license - Apply for an annual hunting license for the first time

You can submit the application in writing or, if available, online.

If you submit the application in writing, fill it in and submit it by post or in person to the competent authority.

The application and the evidence to be provided will be checked for completeness and correctness.

If you meet all the requirements, you will be issued a foreigner hunting license.

You apply for the annual hunting licence for foreigners at the authority in whose area of responsibility you would like to hunt for the most part.

The responsibility lies with the lower hunting authority.

• Your main residence is not in Germany
• personal reliability
• physical fitness
• Hunting liability insurance
• Passed hunting examination abroad, which is comparable to the German hunting examination
• Possession of a valid hunting license from your home country

• Identity card
• Hunting license of the home country
• if applicable, certificate of the hunter's examination with any additional documents
• current photo
• Proof of statutory hunting liability insurance

The annual hunting licence shall be valid for a maximum of three consecutive hunting years. The hunting year starts on 01.04. and ends on 31.03.
