Fisherman's Exam Acceptance
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIn order to obtain a fishing licence in Rhineland-Palatinate for the first time, you must pass a fishing exam consisting of a theoretical and practical part. The examination must demonstrate sufficient knowledge of fish species, the management of fish stocks and the management of fishing waters, fishing gear and its use, the treatment of caught fish and the fisheries, animal welfare and nature conservation regulations. Fisherman's exams from other German federal states are documented by a fishing license issued there.
The following persons, among others, do not have to prove that they have passed a fishing examination:
- young people, if they buy a youth fishing licence,
- people who are unable to take the exam due to a physical, mental or psychological disability, for the solution of the special fishing license,
- professionally trained fishermen and fish farmers with a corresponding final or master craftsman's examination, as well as persons who are trained for this purpose,
- Persons who are scientifically trained in the field of fisheries,
- Persons who do not have a place of residence in Germany or who belong to the diplomatic corps.
