Keeping a fighting dog: Proof of expertise

• You register for the examination with the competent authority.
• You complete a theoretical and a practical part of the examination.
• If you pass the exam, you will receive the required certificate of competence.

The Rhineland-Palatinate State Chamber of Veterinarians is responsible.

The certificate of competence is only valid in connection with the dog with which you have passed the test.

• Proof of identity by means of an identity card or passport
• You must provide proof of your dog's identity (e.g. by means of microchips)

You must also bring

• Muzzle,
• Suitable chain, leather or plastic collar,
• lead leash

• Examination standards for the certificate of competence according to § 3 paragraph 2 of the State Law on Dangerous Dogs (LHundG) of 22.12.2004
