Applying for financial aid for agricultural enterprises

In the event of exceptional natural disasters in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Supervision and Services Directorate (ADD) determines the affected damage regions (districts/district-free cities) on the basis of the situation information and reports available to it and informs the Ministry responsible for fire and disaster protection of this for the determination of the natural disaster. This is done in agreement with the Ministry responsible for financial affairs and in coordination with the Ministry responsible for Agriculture.

The determination of a natural hazard and the deadline for the submission of applications for financial aid are announced in the State Gazette for Rhineland-Palatinate.).

For the respective elementary event, the ministry responsible for agriculture determines the technical requirements on the basis of the National Framework Directive on the Granting of State Subsidies to Cope with Natural Disasters or Adverse Weather Conditions.

The applications are received by the Verbandsgemeindeverwaltung or Stadtverwaltung and forwarded to the responsible district administration. The independent damage commission formed there assesses the declared natural hazards and then forwards them to the ADD with a proposal on the type and amount of the financial assistance.

The ADD, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, is responsible for granting aid for elemental damage.

1. existence-endangering damage
2. Detected elementary event
3. non-insurable damage without overcompensation by services of third parties
4. agricultural enterprise with a permanent establishment or establishment in Rhineland-Palatinate, without prejudice to the chosen legal form and size, whose business activity includes the primary production of agricultural products, including beekeeping and wandering sheep farming, or undertakings in the fisheries and aquaculture sector

The necessary declarations must be submitted with the application form. In all other respects, evidence must be attached to explain the extent of the damage.

There are no fees for you.

You must apply for aid for elemental damage within one month of the announcement of the formal recognition in the State Gazette as an extraordinary natural event of supra-local importance (cut-off period!).

The ADD processes applications for aid for elemental damage as soon as possible after the application has been submitted and the necessary declarations have been submitted.

State financial aid is requested in writing. The corresponding forms are available online for retrieval from the ADD and the BKS portal.
