Receive initial counselling for relatives and the social environment of people who are radicalised by Islamism

Are you worried that your child, pupil or friend is being radicalized by Islamists? The "Radicalization" advice centre at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees is a first point of contact for parents, relatives, teachers and friends seeking advice who have the impression that a young person close to them is turning to a radical Islamist group. You can reach the team at the advice center by calling (0911) 943 43 43.

Counseling is available in German, Arabic, English, French, Turkish, Uzbek, Persian or Russian. It is confidential and free of charge.

The aim of the counselling is to help you to correctly assess the situation and - if there is a risk of radicalization - to get your child, pupil or friend back into the family, class or circle of friends out of the radicalization spiral.

The staff at the "Radicalization" advice centre

• listen to you, answer your questions and give you an initial overview of the problem,
• decide together with you on the next steps,
• inform you about other offers of help in your area,
• if you wish, put you in touch with a local contact person who will provide you with individual advice and practical tips on how to deal with your child, friend or pupil,
• put you in direct contact with specialists in all areas,
  (These are experienced experts in the fields of social education, extremism prevention, psychology, Islamic studies, etc.)
• put you in touch with other people in similar situations and with self-help initiatives.
