Grant burial allowance for war victims
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzThe funeral allowance is paid to anyone who has covered the costs of the funeral of the deceased. It amounts to

for persons entitled to a pension:

874.00 euros (from 01.07.17: 891 euros)

1,745.00 euros if the death is the result of an injury (from 01.07.17: 1,778 euros)

for injured persons not entitled to a pension:

1,745.00 euros if the death is the result of an injury (from 01.07.17: 1,778 euros)

The costs of the funeral are initially paid from the funeral allowance to the person who arranged the funeral. This also applies if the costs of the funeral were paid from public funds.
If there is a surplus, the spouse, partner, children, parents, step-parents, foster parents, grandchildren, grandparents, siblings and siblings' children are entitled to receive the benefit in turn if they were living in the same household as the deceased at the time of death.
If there are no such beneficiaries, the surplus will not be paid out.
