Applying for nationwide authorisation for broadcasters
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzAnyone wishing to operate as a broadcaster in Rhineland-Palatinate requires authorisation.
The assembly of the Medienanstalt RLP is responsible for deciding on the admission of national, regional or local offers. In the case of television programmes, the Commission for the Determination of Concentration in the Media Sector (KEK) also checks the admissibility of the company under concentration law.
Special provisions apply to offers that do not exceed certain numbers of users.
Authorisation shall not be transferable and shall be granted for:
- the type of broadcasting service (radio, television),
- the type of programme,
- the duration of the programme,
- the transmission techniques
- the area of distribution,
- the applicant's shareholding, and
- Program Scheme
