Registration must be made in writing. You can obtain the registration form from the State Chamber of Psychotherapists on site or download it from the homepage of the Chamber. You can find the registration form on the website in the section Psychotherapists / Forms / Membership. Send the signed form to the responsible office with the required documents.

You are required to become a member if you...
- are licensed as a psychological psychotherapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist or have a license to practice their profession in accordance with the Psychotherapist Act and
- carry out their professional activity wholly or partly in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
- Are you a citizen of a member state of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or another contracting state? Then you do not have to register with the State Chamber of Psychotherapists if you only practice your profession here temporarily and occasionally. The prerequisite is that you are professionally established in another European contracting state.
Registration form (completed and signed)
- Proof of academic degree
- Doctoral certificate
- Habilitation certificate
- if you have completed psychotherapy training: proof of graduation
- Certificate of approbation with certificate of approbation or proof of permission to practice the profession according to the Psychotherapists Act
The required documents are marked accordingly in the registration form.
Note: You must submit the certificate of licensure, the certificate of approbation and the doctoral or habilitation certificate as an officially certified copy, all other documents as a simple copy.
For registration: none.
For membership: Income-related annual fee. Further information is available from LPK RLP.
Note: Psychotherapists in training (PiAs) and dual members with other chambers of health professions pay a reduced fee.
Immediately, but no later than two weeks after commencing work in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Chamber membership is compulsory. The decision to accept or refuse membership of the Chamber may be challenged within the framework of the administrative proceedings with the remedies of opposition and action as remedies.
As a psychological psychotherapist and as a child and adolescent psychotherapist in Rhineland-Palatinate, you must register with the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Psychotherapists.
The main tasks of the Chamber include:
- to represent the professional interests of its members,
- to promote their further education and training, and
- to supervise the fulfilment of professional obligations.
Note: If you relocate your psychotherapeutic work abroad, you can remain a voluntary member upon application. This also applies in the event that you only move your residence abroad without being professionally active.
