Electronic certificate of origin (EUZ)
Source: BUS Rheinland-Pfalz- The certificate of origin plays a role in the application of preferential tariffs and anti-dumping measures or is used for price control, monitoring import restrictions and similar purposes. The certificate of origin is a clear proof of the commercial origin of goods issued by an independent body. Proof of origin is often required in the international trade of goods.
- To meet government requirements of the receiving country:
- Control of the flow of goods
- implementation of anti-dumping measures
- monitoring import restrictions and import quotas
- to fulfill obligations under private law
- in individual cases, to claim customs duty reductions
- Proof of origin within the framework of export credit insurance (Hermes guarantees)
- Carrying out price and quality controls

- Letter of credit
- As a rule, the destination country decides whether a certificate of origin is required.
