Applying for temporary flight permits
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzWith a provisional traffic authorization or a permit to fly, the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) can approve the planned flight or flights with the specified aircraft or approve the flight conditions.
You can apply for the following:
- the provisional admission to traffic for Annex I aircraft,
- the Permit to Fly for aircraft with an EASA rating, or
- approval of the flight conditions by the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt.

You can apply for a permit to fly if
- the approval of the flight conditions is related to the safety of the design or
- the approval of the flight conditions is not related to the safety of the construction.
When you apply for a temporary admission to traffic or a permit to fly, you must provide information about the aircraft.
With the issue of a provisional admission to traffic or a permit to fly, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation approves the entry into service of the aircraft for the flight or flights applied for.
With the approved flight conditions, you can be issued a permit to fly by another authorized body.
