Energy supply: Charges for network access - approval

Charges for network access require approval by the responsible regulatory authority (Federal Network Agency or state regulatory authority).

Approval must be granted if the fees comply with the statutory requirements. The approved fees are maximum prices and may only be exceeded in defined exceptions. The regulatory authority must be notified immediately if they are exceeded.

Approval is granted for a limited period and is subject to revocation; it may be granted subject to conditions and conditions may be attached.

To the Federal Network Agency for Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Post and Railway or the Rhineland-Palatinate Regulatory Chamber. For distribution network operators with fewer than 100,000 directly or indirectly connected customers, the state regulatory authority is responsible, provided the network does not extend beyond the border of a federal state; in all other cases, the Federal Network Agency is responsible.

The Rhineland-Palatinate Regulatory Chamber is part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture.
