Type testing - approving construction projects in several places

According to Section 75 (1) of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Building Code (LBauO), the proof of stability, including the fire resistance of the components and the fire, heat and noise protection, can be generally tested for structural systems or parts of structural systems that are to be erected or used in the same design at several locations (type test). A type test can also be issued for structures that are to be erected in different designs but according to a certain system and from certain components at several locations; the type test must specify the permissible changeability. A type test is not issued for temporary structures.

According to Section 75 (4) sentence 1 LBauO, the type test does not release the applicant from the obligation to obtain a building permit.

Type tests of other states of the Federal Republic of Germany also apply in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
