Exempt wastewater discharge into private sewage plants from the permit requirement

In Rhineland-Palatinate, the following applies:

• The responsible Structure and Approval Directorate North or South will explain the administrative procedure to you.
• You prepare the application documents with the help of a specialist planner and submit them.
• The responsible Structure and Approval Directorate will check your application documents. If necessary, submit the required documents later.
• You will receive a notification of exemption from the permit requirement to discharge waste water into private sewage treatment plants.
• You pay the administration fee.

Responsibility in Rhineland-Palatinate lies with the Structural and Approval Directorates North and South.

The exemption from the permit requirement may only be granted if the legal requirements are complied with. Irrespective of this, the operator of the private sewage plant may impose further requirements.

Discharge into a private sewage treatment plant may only take place once the exemption from the permit requirement has been granted . Therefore, submit the application in good time - at least six months - before discharge of wastewater into a private sewage plant.

You must expect a processing time of at least three months. This is usually extended if documents have to be submitted later.
