Report changes to the requirements for recognition as a body for the measurement of radon-222 activity concentration

You can report changes to the BfS online.
Online application:

• Go to the website of the federal portal and complete the application form online.
• Upload the other documents, such as proof of the current calibration status.
• Submit your application online.

Once your application has been received, the BfS will check your details.

• You will receive
  • a confirmation of receipt by e-mail
  • if necessary, a request from the BfS for further documents
• The BfS will send you by e-mail
  • a notification of change or
  • a letter of confirmation

If necessary, the BfS updates the information on the recognized body published on its website.
If you change or add to measuring devices already in use, you will receive a letter of confirmation after the BfS has checked them.

• You are already recognized as a body for the measurement of radon-222 activity concentration at workplaces.
• You can provide evidence that the BfS can use to check the suitability of new equipment and other requirements for recognition.
• The BfS has already found your devices to be suitable and you have proof of a successful suitability test from the BfS.
• Your proof of changes to the recognition requirements allows an inspection by the BfS.

If you use other measuring devices than those listed in the application documents:

• updated list of all devices to be used in the future for measuring the radon-222 activity concentration
• Proof of the current calibration status
• new or revised procedural instructions for the use of the new device type
• Evidence of the determination of the measured value for determining the average radon-222 activity concentration
• Evidence of technical and organizational measures to ensure the quality of the measurements and to verify the measurement result
• Proof of transportation, storage, installation and handling of the measuring devices

Proofs are, for example, described procedures or work instructions.
If the personnel responsible for the measurement changes:

• Evidence of the change or changes in the personnel responsible for the measurement

For all other cases: In the event of further changes, the BfS will provide the necessary evidence after consultation.

As a recognized body, you must inform the BfS immediately of any changes.

If you change the name or legal form of your organization:

• Appeal. You can find out how to lodge an objection in the notification of change

There are no indications or special features.
