Authorize companies that move plants and their products within the EU to issue plant passports
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzEntrepreneurs who wish to issue plant passports for plants and their products require authorization from the competent authority.
The plant passport is an official label for the movement of plants and plant products to EU member states.
It certifies that the plants and plant products meet the requirements of the regulations on intra-Community movement and movement into protected areas. The plant passport thus certifies that the goods are free from quarantine pests and other regulated non-quarantine pests, RNQP (Regulated Non Quarantine Pests) for short.
By issuing plant passports, the company also assumes obligations to monitor its stocks for infestation with harmful organisms. There is also an obligation to document inspections and trade flows.
