Aerial photographs, orthophotos
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzAerial photographs, i.e. photographic images of the landscape, are an important source of information about changes in the earth's surface. They show a real picture of the earth's surface with roads, paths, houses, streams, trees or even cars and people.
Orthophotos are created by computational equalization and image processing from the aerial photographs and depict the earth's surface to scale like a map.
