Authorize cross-border services for crafts requiring a license

Chambers of Skilled Crafts can grant nationals of the following countries an exemption permit for entry in the register of skilled craftsmen if the requirements are met:
- Member states of the European Union (EU),
- other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) or
- Switzerland
Please submit the application for an exemption permit to the relevant Chamber of Crafts.
The competent authority is the Chamber of Crafts in whose district the future branch is located.
Alternatively, you can contact the Single Point of Contact in Rhineland-Palatinate.The Single Point of Contact is a public body through which you can handle all administrative procedures and formalities required for the commencement and exercise of your service activity and for the recognition of a foreign professional qualification. - at least 6 years without interruption as a self-employed person or as a person responsible for the business, provided that the activity was not terminated more than ten years before the application was submitted
- at least three consecutive years as a self-employed person or as a person responsible for the business, if this was preceded by at least three years of training in the activity
- at least four consecutive years as a self-employed person or as a person responsible for a business, if this was preceded by at least two years of training in the activity
- at least three consecutive years as a self-employed person and at least five years as an employee, provided that the activity did not end more than ten years before the application was submitted, or
- at least five consecutive years in a managerial position in a company, of which at least three years must have been spent in an activity involving technical tasks and with responsibility for at least one department of the company, and if at least three years of training in the activity have also taken place. This does not apply to the hairdressing trade.
- a completed school education at a general secondary school, supplemented by technical or vocational training or a work placement or work experience of this kind required alongside the training course
- a completed school education at a technical or vocational secondary school in conjunction with technical or vocational training.

- Hearing aid acoustician,
- orthopaedic technicians,
- orthopaedic shoemakers,
- and dental technicians.
- Proof of nationality (passport, copy of identity card)
- Certificate on the nature and duration of the activity ("EU certificate"), issued by the competent authority or institution of the country of origin
Further information can be obtained from the Chamber of Skilled Crafts - Certificate of training
- through a state-recognized certificate or
- recognition of the training by a competent professional organization in the country of origin
- documents proving that the exercise of the trade has not been prohibited in the country of origin due to unreliability. These must have been issued by the competent authority of the country of origin. If the above-mentioned documents are not issued in the country of origin, they can be replaced by an affidavit in lieu of an oath. In some countries, there is no affidavit in lieu of an oath. There you can make a solemn declaration. You must make such a declaration before
- a competent authority,
- a notary or notary public or
- an appropriately authorized professional organization in the country of origin.
This authority will certify your declaration. The documents must not be older than three months.
