Report wine and grape must stocks
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIf you process, store or trade in wine or grape must on a commercial basis, you must report your stocks to the competent regional office by the deadline of July 31 of the respective year.
If the deadline is not listed below, you must ask the responsible regional office. As a guide: As a producer, processor, bottler or trader (except retailers), you must submit your stock declarations by 10.09. at the latest. However, the EU member states can set an earlier deadline. Some federal states have made use of this option:
- Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate: 07.08.
- Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia: 10.08.
- Saxony: 14.8.
- Baden-Württemberg: 20.08.
- Lower Saxony and Saarland: 31.08.
- Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 01.09.
- Hamburg and Hesse: 10.09.
You must always state the following in the stock declaration:
- Your identity and whether you are reporting as a producer, processor, bottler or trader;
- the storage location of the products;
- for wines:
- the total stocks, broken down by color (red/rosé or white), type of wine (with PDO, with PGI, varietal wine without PDO/PGI or wine without PDO/PGI), origin (Union or third countries)
- the type of holder of the stocks (producer or trader) (*see below for explanation);
- for grape must:
- the total stocks, broken down by color (red/rosé or white), type of grape must (concentrated grape must, rectified concentrated grape must or other grape must),
- the type of holder of the stocks (producer or trader)*.
Quantities of products from the Union originating from the grape harvest of the same calendar year are not included in this declaration.
* You may have to differentiate between your own and purchased products stored in your own or rented premises on the survey date. It is irrelevant whether they are stored in tanks, barrels or bottles.
