Data collection for transport and traffic statistics

If the Federal Statistical Office has written to your company, transmit your data as follows:

• You will receive a letter asking you to send your data to the Federal Statistical Office.
• The information required in your case can be found in the letter.
• Log in to the survey portal of the Federal and State Statistical Offices. Follow the relevant instructions to use the reporting procedure that is right for you:
  • IDEV: Submit the data via electronic online forms. IDEV supports you to reduce your workload.
    • You have received the access data for IDEV with the letter.
  • eSTATISTIK.CORE online portal: Automatically compile the data electronically in your respective software system.
    • As a rule, you can check the data on screen before transmission. Then transmit the data to the Federal Statistical Office as a data package (XML file) via the eSTATISTIK.CORE online portal.
    • You may have to register once to use the eSTATISTIK.CORE online portal.
• The Federal Statistical Office may ask you to complete your data.
• You will receive confirmation that your data has been transmitted.

You operate a company that is active in the following areas:

• Inland waterway transport
• air transportation
• passenger transportation
• rail transportation

You do not need to submit any further documents.

They must provide information on federal statistics free of charge and postage.

If the Federal Statistical Office has written to you and you have to submit data, the deadlines specified in the averaging apply to you.

Depending on the area and survey characteristic, you must submit the data at different times, for example monthly, annually, quarterly or every five years.

The Federal Statistical Office will immediately confirm the transmission of your data.

Depending on the survey, you will usually need between 15 minutes and 4 hours to submit the data.
