Extend the inspection period for installations in need of monitoring

You may request the extension of the review period in writing to the competent authority.

• Submit the application and the required documents.
• The authority will examine your application and the documents submitted.
• You will receive a notification of the extension of the review period or a rejection of the review period extension.

Please contact the Regional Offices of the Labour Inspectorate of the Structure and Approval Directorate North (SGD North) or the Regional Offices of the Labour Supervision of the Structure and Approval Directorate South (SGD South).

They shall establish an equivalent level of security by means of technical and/or organisational measures.

• Information on the system, the place of use and operating times (design, type of production, quality, operational influences)
• Result of the risk assessment for the plant
• Test certificates for the most recent tests carried out
• Information on the measures to be taken to ensure safety
• Expert opinion on the equivalence of the measures

• Information on maintenance by a specialist fitter or company

The amount of the costs depends on the effort.

These range between 50.00 euros and 320.00 euros.

As a rule, at the earliest after the first periodic inspection. If there is sufficient knowledge about the operational influences on the service life, the extension of the inspection period can also be approved before the first periodic inspection. However, no later than 8 weeks before the expiry of the statutory review period.

Contradiction:

• You may appeal against the decision within one month of notification.
• You must submit the objection to the competent authority in writing or for a record.
