Feed control
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzAnimal feed is the most important agricultural input in Germany with a value of approx. 17.68 billion euros (2012). The annual consumption of animal feed is approx. 79.4 million tons (grain units, 2011/12).
Feed companies are particularly responsible for avoiding risks to human and animal health and the environment through careful and quality-oriented production and use of feed. Risk-oriented regular inspections are carried out by the official feed monitoring authorities at all stages of production, processing and distribution of feed. These are aimed at ensuring that feed companies comply with the provisions of feed legislation.
