Small farm to apply for approval for meat production

Approval is only carried out after an on-site inspection by the authorities. It may be granted on a temporary basis and subject to conditions. With the approval, your permanent establishment will also receive the veterinary control number (authorisation number) required for intra-Community trade.

Require approval:

All establishments carrying out commercial slaughterings, such as:

• Self-slaughtering direct marketers
• Self-slaughtering butchers/butchers.

Do not require approval:

• Restaurants, restaurants and retail businesses if they do not sell more than one third of their products of animal origin to other local retailers.

A written request is required.

Admission must in principle be applied for before the start of the activity.
