Agri-environment and climate measures
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzWith the "Development of Environment, Agriculture and Landscape" (EULLa) programme, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate promotes environmentally friendly and sustainable agriculture. Farmers should take an active role in environmental protection and nature conservation.
In order to meet the differing objectives and specific local circumstances, agri-environmental measures are offered that affect the entire sector or the entire company. At the same time, individual area-related measures are also offered on arable land and grassland
Participants in the programme commit themselves to complying with certain management requirements over a period of five years.
The following measures are offered:
- Environmentally friendly grassland management in the company and animal-friendly husbandry on grassland
- Diverse crops in arable farming
- Retention of underseeding and catch crops over the winter
- Creation of waterside strips
- Environmentally friendly steep and steep slope viticulture
- Hem and band structures
- Conversion of individual arable land into grassland
- Grassland management in the floodplains of the Southern Palatinate
- Alternative crop protection methods
