Applying for authorisation for a testing body in accordance with the Milk Quality Ordinance

Responsibility for investigation bodies headquartered in Rhineland-Palatinate lies with the Service Centre for Rural Areas of West Palatinate.

The application for authorisation as an investigating body must contain the following documents:

1. Proof of accreditation of the test methods according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 7025:2018-03 "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories" or the previous DIN EN ISO/EN 17025:2005-08 of the same name,
2. Proof of the material and human resources that enable them to carry out such investigations and
3. Proof of participation in proficiency tests on the quality of raw milk carried out by the Max Rubner Institute or the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety, insofar as the above-mentioned institutions have requested the testing body to participate.

A written application is required.

As a milk buyer, you must keep the results of the tests for three years and, if necessary, show them to the competent authority on request. Together with the results of the tests, the date of sampling, the method of preservation, the date of the examination and the method of analysis must be recorded in writing.
