The Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) helps you with the program "rückenwind 3 " program to help you as a non-profit organization to secure skilled workers. The focus here is on the challenges of demographic and digital change. You will receive support in the form of specific concepts and measures to create a modern and attractive working environment in the social economy.

The BMAS supports projects that improve working conditions in an inclusive, diversity- and life-phase-oriented manner and enable employees to flexibly adapt their skills.

The following 5 fields of action are supported:

  • Development and testing of modern working models and work organization in the context of a changing world of work in social professions and fields of work
  • Target group-specific concepts for the digital and analog qualification of employee groups. Objectives are for example
    • Strengthening equal opportunities,
    • improving the compatibility of family and career,
    • increasing the proportion of women in management positions,
    • increasing the proportion of skilled workers from a migrant background,
    • increasing the proportion of people with disabilities,
    • maintaining the employability and health of employees and
    • improving the inclusiveness of companies
  • Measures to support employees and companies in dealing with new workplace technologies, particularly with regard to adapting skills and job profiles
  • Digital and analog measures for recruiting and retaining staff. Consideration of gender, age, origin, professional biography and life phases of employees. Consideration of career changers and target groups that have so far received too little attention
  • Support and qualification of employees and further development of management and corporate culture with regard to change and future viability in non-profit institutions, services and companies in the social economy

Type and scope:

The funding is granted in the form of pro rata financing with subsidies. The grant amounts to between 50 and 70 percent of your total expenditure.

Applications are approved by Deutsche Rentenversicherung Knappschaft-Bahn-See (DRV KBS). The DRV KBS has the following tasks

  • informing the applicants and advising them on funding,
  • examine applications,
  • approve and pay out grants and
  • review projects.

The duration of an individual project is usually up to 3 years.

The Federal Association of Non-Statutory Welfare (BAGFW) is responsible for managing the project and providing technical and content-related support.
